      The CNI (Spanish intelligence agency) instead of informing Catalan authorities of what they knew, chose to destroy their own files and say nothing. The surviving terrorists moved to Plan B, driving vans into crowds of people in BCN and Cambrils. In total 16 innocent people died.

        The @publico_es newspaper today published its report, fruit of a years' research. The story is damning, but there's not a mention in the Madrid newspapers. Spain's parliament at the time vetoed an investigation, and the Spanish gov disbanded an investigation by the Catalan gov.

                With vital information being withheld, it was initially though that it was a domestic gas accident. The delay allowed the terrorist cell time to regroup, and go on to kill 16 people from 10 countries, mostly tourists, and injure up to 100.

                  What was the CNI's motivation for working with this terror cell? The attacks came just 6 weeks before the #1Oct referendum; a massive death toll in Barcelona from a huge explosion could likely have derailed the referendum.                     The CNI were tapping the phones of the terror cell just five days before the attacks on Ramblas and Cambrils, all through the bomb-building time.
