    Anwar urges the Catalan political class to take actions that have 'consequences' and not to wait for the legal outcome, because that will never arrive. Trials, sentencing, appeals, European courts, more appeals; those postponements will eat up years.

      It's a fairly extraordinary position for a human rights lawyer to take, essentially calling for extralegal measures. It mirrors an attitude I hear more and more from people here - that the political class in Catalonia needs to step up the pace and not wait on Spain's permission.
